For six years, from November 2019 to December 2025, he served as Group CDO & CIO of Elia Group SA, one of Europe's most systemically critical transmission system operators — and member of the Group Management Board. Group-wide responsibility for IT, digitalisation, data, AI, and innovation, covering around 1,400 employees and a budget of more than 500 million euros. Flagship programmes: the Elia Digital Platform (EDP) as the group's cloud-native stack, and the Modular Control Center System (MCCS) as the next generation of control-room architecture. In parallel, CDIO of 50Hertz Transmission GmbH under critical-infrastructure regulation; from 2025 additionally Chief AI Officer of the group. Plus a six-year board mandate at re.alto, a group company operating as a data and energy-API marketplace.
Before that, CEO of Sensorberg GmbH (2017–2019), having joined as COO in 2016 and repositioned the company into an industrial IoT platform for construction, manufacturing, and real estate — revenue tripled within two years. Subsequently board member and advisor until December 2024. From 2012 to 2016, Head of Network at Vattenfall, originally a six-month interim mandate extended to four years. Pan-European data, voice, and video network across more than 600 sites and a 150-million-euro outsourcing programme. Group COO and Managing Director of the iconmobile group 2009–2010 in the early smartphone phase, with customers including BMW, Audi, Procter & Gamble, and Microsoft. From 2003 to 2009, Head of Global User Experience and Product at Vodafone, with postings in London, Düsseldorf, and Tokyo, building a global UX and product organisation from two to more than 120 staff, an annual budget of 100 million euros, more than 30 markets. Earlier, five years of IT and technology-strategy consulting at Accenture (1998–2003) for European telco customers in Berlin and Frankfurt.
exigo capital has been the entrepreneurial constant since January 2011. The original investment vehicle has evolved into a platform on which three own product ventures emerged — Bookletmobile (mobile micro-publishing, exited), paymy (mobile payment via SEPA direct debit), and GES Verlag (digital-only publishing) — alongside an investment portfolio held within a thematic bracket. Today's focus: Paretos (agentic decision intelligence for supply chain), CyberDesk (identity-centric data security), Sedisto (founding investor in a digitalisation platform for self-storage), w3.fund (founding LP for Web3 early stage). Plus senior advisory and mentor mandates with, among others, Founders Foundation, Applysia, ESMT Vali, and elevion green.
