Identity-centric data security for enterprises.
Context
CyberDesk was founded in 2022 by Dr. Tobias Lieberum (CEO) and Prabhakar Mishra (CTO) in Munich, with roots at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). The thesis: traditional identity-security solutions provide modern organisations with too little visibility over who actually accesses which data — CyberDesk overlays an identity-centric view on top of the data estate and makes access and privileges adaptively governable.
The platform covers six interconnected functions: Identity Inventory (human and non-human identities), Data Inventory (classification of sensitive data), Access Graph (relationships between identities and data), Lifecycle Management, Access Reviews, and Risk Monitoring. The approach addresses regulated industries — financial services, healthcare, energy — where the question of who has access to what and why is not just compliance but operational resilience.
External recognition: KuppingerCole Rising Star (Data Access Governance) and the Best of Technology Award 2025 (WirtschaftsWoche). Investors include Possible Ventures, Venture Stars, and AngelInvest.
