First management station: opening the Berlin office from scratch.
Context
GSM Gesellschaft für Software Management existed as an independent software spin-off from the Fraunhofer environment. In the mid-1990s, the wish to return professionally from Stuttgart to Berlin met the condition set by the then-management: anyone wanting to move to Berlin had to build business for GSM there as well. This is how the Berlin office came into being.
Contribution
Acquisition and build-up of the GSM Berlin office from the ground up — staff, customers, project pipeline. Substantively the continuation of the Fraunhofer work, in client mandates close to strategy consulting. The flagship reference of this phase: a large project for Treuhand Liegenschaftsgesellschaft (TLG) — one of the central actors in post-reunification real estate administration in East Germany, with corresponding project volume and public visibility.
Three and a half years of entrepreneurial responsibility as the first management station; first office build-up including full business development.
