Context

In 2011, Softgarden was a German SaaS HR platform in need of restructuring. The first interim management mandate through the newly founded exigo capital vehicle — and concurrent with the exigo start-up year.

Contribution

Redefinition of strategy and operating model, introduction of a SaaS business model in the strict sense (subscription, multi-tenant, standard product) in place of the previous project-oriented model. Focus on profitability and a predictable growth trajectory.

In the year of exit (2011), the highest revenue in the company’s history and the first year with a double-digit EBIT margin (around 15 percent). Mandate handover in early 2012 after transition into a self-sustaining operation.
