Context
Speaking slot in the IT-Leadership Vision format of SIBB, the Berlin-Brandenburg industry association for IT and the internet. The audience is an IT community that typically views the energy sector as a customer industry rather than a career home. The talk turns this around: transmission grids, distributed generation and sector coupling produce an architecture and platform problem that cannot be solved without first-class IT leadership — with the consequence that the CDO/CIO role inside a regulated utility carries a different profile from the same title in a classic tech company.
